Health information people in Nepal can trust

Nepal Med Info exists so that anyone in Nepal can understand an illness, a medicine or a health decision without needing a medical degree, and in the language they are most comfortable reading.

Why we started

Most reliable health information online is written for readers in other countries. It quotes medicines that are sold under different names, services that do not exist here, and seasons that do not match ours.

We write for Nepal. That means monsoon-season illnesses, medicines you can actually find at a local pharmacy, and practical advice on when to visit a health post, a district hospital or a specialist.

Our editorial standards

Evidence first

Every claim is based on current guidance from bodies such as WHO, Nepal's Ministry of Health and Population, and peer-reviewed research. Sources are listed on each page.

Medical review

Pages about diseases and medicines are reviewed by a qualified clinician, whose name and review date appear on the page.

Independence

We do not accept payment to promote any product, clinic or medicine. Advertising, if ever shown, is clearly separated from content.

Corrections

If you spot an error, tell us. We review every report and update the page with a new review date.

Two languages, written by people

Nepali pages are written and checked by people who speak the language, not produced by automatic translation. Where a Nepali version does not exist yet, we tell you and show the English page instead.
